Wild West II Tour - The team from Celtic Horizon Tours have done it again!
Just when we thought they couldn’t outdo themselves, Celtic Horizon have gone and put another fantastic American Tour together. This one is called the Wild West II Tour.
The Wild West II tour starts in Vegas and takes in some pretty amazing sights. The ride out rolls west getting to Yosemite National Park several days later. The crew will take a while to enjoy the breathtaking scenery prior to heading west towards San Francisco. Before they do, however they’ll cross San Rafael Bridge and ride on into Marin county.
Marlin County is a place that has to be seen to be believed. It’s a world of conspicuous luxury and abundant natural beauty. Sunshine, sandy beaches, high mountains, and thick redwood forests, set apart what is very often ranked the wealthiest county in the US from all the others.
The lunch stop, Sausalito, is now a quaint seaside town. It was once a hot spot for drunken sailors, who frequented bawdy saloons. Today it’s a much different and refined town that wouldn’t look out of place in the South of France!
The Golden Gate Bridge
After that it’s on to what has to be one of the most iconic bridges in the world, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. The star of a thousand movies awaits and heralds you into one of the greatest cities in the US where you’ll stay for two nights.
The following day of the Wild West Tour is a free one. You’re invited to take a tour of Alcatraz, drop in to Haight-Ashbury and visit the Museum of Modern Art. Make sure to go upstairs and check out whose bike, surprisingly, made the cut!
From there it’s out of the city and on to the Pacific Coast Highway. The PCH is one of the most famous roads on the west coast of the US. Look out for James Deans ghost as well as the occasional flying saucer! The towns of Carmel and Monterey with its world-class racetrack await.
The Wild West II trip is a nine day affair and finishes up in Los Angeles. It manages to pack in a whole lot more than you’d think without pushing the mileage too high, which is what we like about CHT tours. If you’d like to take part give any of the team in the Kildare based office a call on 016292000, or go to Celtic Horizon Tours.
