Bolting the barn door after the tyre has a hole in it...
We do like our kit here at motorcyclesonline so we were delighted to find a new toy, a compact compressor. Having recently got a puncture on my motorcycle I’d really liked to have had one for the event!
This clever piece of kit is actually an inflator. Never the less it’s a clever piece of kit that solves, what can be, a very annoying problem. Unlike most of these units this one is compact enough to fit into any pannier or topbox without taking up a significant amount of space. It’ll even fit into a rucksack without adding a noticeable increase in weight.
It's been made to reinflate and top up motorcycle tyres, amongst other vehicles, as well as correct them as you might on a track or race day.
The torch is a bright idea
Charging on a simple USB connection even makes it possible to power it from the connection on a bike if you haven’t already charged it. Charging its lithium battery to full takes only three hours. Being all digital simply press the power button, select from PSI, KPA or BAR and its accuracy is within one PSI up to 50 PSI. All of this is displayed on LED screen. There’s even a torch on the top of the unit to help fix a problem when the sun goes down.
Buttons and a charger cable, the key to happiness...
I carry mine with a simple tyre plugging kit. You’ll find them available from most motorcycle and auto parts shops for €95.
