Koves new KY125R

The company add a street legal 125 to the range

Styled to perfection

We recently rode the new Kove 800. Being somewhat sceptical about the brand I was stunned by how good it is. Now the company are reaching into the novice market with a new learner-legal 125, the KYR. What we have here is high-specification naked street bike.

A single sided swing arm

Kove have proven their abilities in the Dakar where the team finished the event. Now the company have put that same attitude into their new 125.

To this end the bike is built with a single-sided swingarm, a pair of 41mm upside down forks, ABS comes as standard. All the pertinent information is presented on an LCD display.

Simple, effective and very cool

Just like the people who’ll be riding it, its weight is disturbingly low. The KY comes in at only 135kg.

With a narrow profile

Being powered by a 124cc single cylinder makes for a pretty standard set up for the class, putting out a shade under 15bhp. Having liquid cooling shows that the company have their eyes on future environmental requirements. Sitting in a trellis frame just adds to its cool factor.

It'll even carry a pillion

The styling is reminiscent of the KTM 125 but, with details such as the bellypan and that cool single sided swing arm, it’s going to stand out from the pack.

It, along with the rest of the Kove range, is available from CCM Racing here in Dublin.

The rest of the range is just as impressive
