The team at Oxford Products in the UK have recently started working on some new and very well made riding equipment. For years we’ve associated the brand with all the peripherals that we would put on our bikes including bungee cords, tax disc holders and all the stuff we need but never really think of until we do.
Now they’ve branched out into clothing and some of it looks really good with a new triple layered jacket and trouser combo called the Oxford ‘Continental’. This is a highly versatile suit and can be an all day, every day, all season jacket and trousers. It comprises of a highly ventilated outer jacket, a detachable waterproof liner and a removable thermal line. This means that it can be used in hot, cold and wet weather conditions all with equal comfort and effectiveness.
The suit is built using a rather clever Modular Layering Construction system. This means it’s perfect for wearing in all weather conditions. One of the ways it protects is by incorporating the latest new technology. A WarmDry thermal tech, which keeps the rider warm in the coldest of weather is a big and clever part of the offering. The waterproof liner is created with Dry2Dry technology. The latter has been doing the do on the companies RainSeal wet weather gear since god was a boy.
So heat is managed using ventilation and removable liners while the rain is kept out with a clever liner as well as waterproof and high quality YKK zips while the whole suit features CE rated protectors throughout. There is even a reflective print on both the pants and jacket. And all the tread is nylon bonded and coated so there will be no leaking on the seams. There is, of course, a full 360 connecting zip between the jacket and pants.
