When it comes to motorcycle helmets it would be easy to presume that all are equal. This is, unfortunately, just not true. Japanese helmet manufacturer, Arai, have been in the business of making the best helmets in the world for three generations at this stage and the jewel in their crown is the RX7 Corsair.
As worn by racers with the pedigree of Jonathan Rae and Danni Pedrosa, the RX-7V represents the peak of Arai’s, not insubstantial, knowledge, racing experience and construction know-how in premium helmet technology. The new helmet is now made with a completely new PB-SNC² outer shell as well as the revolutionary Variable Axis System, (VAS), visor system and a significantly increased smoother area around the temples.
The new RX-7V, once again, offers the new benchmark in the premium helmet segment. It’s not just the new shell. There is also a new anti-microbial material liner with an even slimmer frame. There are new ducts, an improved diffuser and the integrated Air Channels. Indeed every part shows the attention to detail that is so important to and typical of Arai.
Arai RX7 Corsair - Ideal
The Japanese company has continually improved the “glancing off” performance by learning from real life scenarios. Thanks to the new stronger and smoother shell and VAS, the RX-7V is closer to the ideal helmet shape than ever. With VAS, the visor mounting position is lowered a full 24mm in pursuit of the ideal smoother shape. This increases the helmets ability to disperse the shock of multiple impacts thanks to its ability to glance off rather than suddenly stop.
As a result, this has made it possible for the shell to be completely smooth above the test line of the internationally highly regarded Snell standard. The full range of Arai helmets are available from Megabikes in Dublin. Call Ryan on 014784200 to organise a fitting.
